The 2022 Dzogchen Buddha Path Sacred Arts Competition

Join the International Dzogchen Buddha Path Sangha and the Holy Vajra Master in celebration of this third annual Sacred Arts Competition and Dzogchen Buddha Path Youth Art Presentation!

 

Day 1: Monday November 14th, 12:00 – 3:00 pm (Taiwan)
Sacred Arts Competition: Selecting finalists of the best song, music, poetry, art, and
photography

 

Day 2: Tuesday November 15th, 12:00 – 3:00pm (Taiwan)
Celebrating Buddha’s Mother’s Day: Award Celebration—Announcing the winners of the
best song, music, poetry, art, and photography

 

We encourage all Sangha to enter their own original pieces of sacred music, poetry, or work of art.

General Guidelines

All submissions must express fundamental principles of the Dzogchen Buddha Path.
Regional Dzogchen Buddha Path Sacred Arts Committee fairly selects up to 5 of the best artists in each category from their region.

 

Each artist can present 1 piece from 2 of the 5 categories: song, music, poetry, art, or photography, for a total of 2 submissions. The committee will not review more than two pieces from any one artist.

 

If you would like to submit a piece for this competition, please contact your regional
director. The deadline for submissions is October 30 at 9pm for Europe (October 29th at 9pm for North America and October 30 at 9pm for Asia, Russia)

The winners of the European region will be announced and celebrated on the evening of Sunday November 6th at 18:30 (MEST) and 19:30 (FIN/EST) 

Guidelines for Size of Arts

Songs and music must be a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 3.5 minutes long.
Note: Songs that are longer than 3.5 minutes may not be reviewed.

 

Instrumental music can be a minimum of two minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes long.
Note: Instrumental music that is longer than 5 minutes may not be reviewed.

 

Poetry must be at least one verse minimum and not more than 180 words (cannot take more than 3 minutes to read at normal speed).
Note: Poetry that takes longer than 3 minutes may not be reviewed.

 

Pieces of visual art cannot be more than one page or have multiple pieces.

Submission Guidelines

At this time, live performances are not suitable due to technical issues, time, and
circumstances.

 

All songs, music, and reading poetry must be submitted in Mp3 or Mp4 format or uploaded to Youtube.

 

Painting art, photographic art, or other digital art are submitted as jpeg or PDF. (Paintings, photographs, or other digital arts can be submitted as Mp4 or uploaded to Youtube)

 

For music, if your song or instrumental piece uses original material from another artist or source, acknowledge the artist, song, lyrics, etc., when making your submission. Please note that there will be a deduction of points for using borrowed material.
